Lysander could be mean, but it wasn't his style. Well, it hadn't been his style. With the help of Gemma Bennet and Lily formerly-Potter, he had risen in the ranks of Hogwarts' popularity scale, and had thrown his books out of his bag to follow the cool crowd to their parties in their common rooms, and for snogging the hottest girl in a broom closet in the middle of some-odd hallway. It had become that way, and he hadn't minded, because now he was more popular than his brother, and that was all he had ever wanted. He knew it was wrong, for him to want so badly to be better than his twin, but he couldn't help it. He took after his father in that aspect. The man always wanted better, no matter how well you did. Lysander had used to take after his mother, with the way he had acted and his personality, but he knew now what people meant when they said that the people you hung out with could change you. Now. he was more snarky and driven than ever. And Lorcan? He was left to be forgotten in the back of his brother's mind.
He didn't know anything really about what was going on in his brother's life. It wasn't like his life affected Lys in any way. They weren't very connected at all, which had never been to change. Before, Lorcan had been the loudest and most outgoing of the two. Lysander had been quiet and had stuck to his books, not wanting to one-up his brother for fear of tearing apart their family. Now, it was sort-of the other way around, but not quite exactly. Lysander was now the loudest and more-outgoing of the two of them. He went around and made friends left and right, throwing around his last name as if it was a prized jewel. His father had written a few books, and so they were well-off, so that earned him some respect. He wasn't a charmer, but he did have his way with the ladies, knowing that all some girls wanted was one night, and nothing tying them down. His reputation spread around the school, especially when he had started to date Lily formerly-Potter. He tried to offer her advice, and tell her what to do to remain in her position, and how to avoid a mutiny, and how to get Lucian Avery back in the palms of her dainty little hands, but she hadn't listened, got herself into a big mess, and he had dumped her, sensing that all she would do was drag him down.
It was late, around three o'clock in the morning when Lysander had arrived in the common room. He was a little bit further than tipsy, but he hadn't lost his head. He had been at a party in the Hufflepuff common room, of all places, but he had to admit, most people really didn't give them enough credit. Since they were the house that sort-of faded into the background, it was easier to get away with things, and so they had more than enough of a stock to hold parties every once-in-a-few-days. They didn't, though, which slightly disappointed the younger Scamander twin. He ran a hand through his curly, jet black hair and sat down on the couch, afraid that if he tried to climb any more stairs in his state, he'd end up falling right back down and breaking something.

His life was over according to himself, and that was the best he could do for now. It wouldn’t be long now, as he stood there. He had became invisible, a ghost in the winds. Lysander, his brother, had finally raise above him and if he would care enough for his role, he would do all in his power to try to win back his place at Hogwarts yet it wasn’t in him anymore. Their roles hadn’t been clear to Lys at all, and Lys didn’t even realize anything that was going on in Lorr’s life. His own twin didn’t know anything about him, not really. Lys never realizes that he had been the stronger of his brothers, and Lys didn’t even realize the impact of Lorr’s full life, which was over. He lost everything.
What happen to his life? Somebody might ask if they care enough about Lorcan Scamander, which they most likely don’t. It was obvious to Lorcan that nobody even pays attention to him in class or the common room or the dormitories, however it could just be because nowadays he’s basically just going with the routine and not living. Everything didn’t really matter anymore except for a few things. One was that Ella wasn’t around anymore. Two whoever killed her will pay dearly. Three he was back to his old ways yet he will continue until the murderer was found and properly gone. He vowed to Ella’s grave on this, and yet he still didn’t find any clues. Maybe Ella died of natural causes, but he didn’t think so since she had been a vampire and vampires can’t die. It was going to be hard work to find the culprit or culprits behind her death.
Yes, it was a shame for both of the Scamander twins for not recognizing each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and with it came a terrible price for both. Lorcan’s price was at hand, but he didn’t realize it. His price for allowing Ella into his heart and soul was to life. The shared flings without nobody knowing, and soon her death had toppled the scales of his life. It wasn’t the same. He wasn’t the same at all. He was the outgoing louder Scamander twin anymore, and he never been again. That was now Lysander and nobody would mourn his death, so after he gotten revenge for Ella he would continue his cuttings and his life would end. The End.
Wonderful plan, did you think? Well, Lorcan thought so, but now he was dragging himself back into the Ravenclaw common room. He felt so tired and weak. That what’s happen when you force yourself to stay up into three in the morning and when you go to the Room of Requirement to cut your wrists, right? Well, Lorcan didn’t think anybody would be up by then, so he didn’t think his brother of all people just gotten into the common room and sat on the couch was even there. Lorcan didn’t fix his pajama shirt’s sleeves yet, so the evident of what he was doing was clearly in the open.
He was just about used his wand to heal the wounds and roll up his sleeves when he notice Lysander sitting there. He froze in his motions, and pockets his wand away before he rolled up his PJs’ sleeves to hide his cuts. There were also evident of his older cuts just before Ella had made him rethink his life and he had stop. All seem to be great after that, Lorcan didn’t need to think about being popular and just be himself, while Lysander goes up in the rankings of the school. Of course, the happiness ended with Ella’s death, and Lorcan was once more a cutting fiend.
