Lily couldn't believe her bad luck. The group's plan had gone off without a hitch, but what had happened? McGonagall had run into the band, that she and Jamie had poisoned. The thing was, she had made the poison before, and had gotten in trouble for using it before. McGonagall had been immediately able to tell that she had been the one to committ the poisoning, and so now, she was being metaphorically dragged down to the Headmistress' office. She couldn't believe that she had been caught. The whole situation wasn't serious, anyways. McGonagall had been about to award her detention when she said that, and now she was going down to her office. Lily didn't know how everything had gone so downhill, from getting detention to probably somehow being suspended.
She wondered what everyone else would think. It'd probably be spread around the school like wildfire, the fact that the former Potter / Queen B. was getting suspended. Nothing seemed to be working in her favor lately, except for patching up her friendship with Kara and getting back into the trend of hanging around Rose, and a select few people from the family that seemed to be desperately craving her to come back into their fold. Her eyes looked around the room, taking in every little detail, because she had nothing else to do. It wasn't like McGonagall wasn't sitting behind her desk, which was right in front of her. Lily took a deep breath, and then exhaled slowly. It seemed like for her, the night of the Yule Ball magic was over.

McGonagall sat there looking at her. ”Miss Potter…why is it that I seemed to have you in here every other week lately?”she asked looking at her. She reminded her so much of Harry it was ridiculous. Raising a brow she took a deep breath. ”I didn’t want to take you away from the ball Lily but…you know better. You a lot like your grandpa James ya know. He was always in trouble and your father…well I’m sure you know the stories. Most of your teachers were his closest friends or enemies. It seems that he was in here all the time as well. James was in here most of the time. I’m surprised he got through school or was able to torment and follow your grandma Lily.”she told her softly smiling. Minerva laughed lightly looking at Lily thinking about it. ”Have a seat while we wait.”she told her softly taking a deep breath.

Lily rolled her eyes as McGonagall talked about her family. That was something that she hated. She wasn't anything like her family, not really. And it wasn't exactly her fault that McGonagall had noticed that the poison was the same. She could've made a variation of it, because she knew how to use the base, add other ingredients, and have the same affect, but she hadn't thought of it. She hadn't thought she would get caught, so she hadn't covered her tracks. Quite stupid for her, really. Normally, Lily was very cautious to cover her ass and shove other people under the bus, so that even if she was caught, they had no proof and that meant no punishment. No matter what other people said, Lily was a Slytherin for a reason. It wasn't only her ambition, but her cunning that got her into the house of snakes.
"Can I just find out how many weeks of detention I have, or what I have to do? I'd like to get back to the Ball sometime tonight." Lily said. She wasn't exactly the most respectful of fifteen year olds, and didn't have any charm to her rudeness, but just plain disrespect. She got that from her mother, because when her mother was mad, she didn't really care what she said. Lily wasn't angry, she was just annoyed at, once again, being in the Headmistress' office, especially for the one thing that had made her night better, after her confrontation with Lucian Avery, her ex-boyfriend, that had already been swept up by Gossip Girl and by the rest of the Hogwarts students and staff.
