Lily was sick of her former-father’s café. She didn’t want to work in it anymore. She hadn’t wanted to work in it in the first place, but she didn’t even have a choice. She needed money, and since she couldn’t go to Harry, she had to get it somehow. That’s where the café came in. The Malter Café was quite a popular place, and so she got a decent paycheck, but that didn’t matter. She didn’t want to work for her money. She just wanted to get it. She had never had to work before. She had never had to write down people’s orders, and carry them to tables, and do everything else her job entailed. Rose also worked at the Malter Café, but she and Lily had yet to run into each other, as Lily had only been there for a week.
Lils rolled her eyes as she picked up and carried an order to another table. She hated being yelled at so much. Never in her life had anyone spoken to her like this, but apparently, the people behind the counter didn’t care who she used to be, or anything. They just wanted their job done, and that entailed having her do her job well as well. She put on the fake smile she used to use all the time as Queen B. and placed the order down on the customer’s table. It aggravated her to no end how rude people could be, but she wasn’t exactly in a position to complain, and so she didn’t. She couldn’t afford to lose this job, and she knew that the man behind the counter had the power to fire her.
She saw someone else walk in and made her way to their table once they were seated. “Hello, and welcome to the Malter Café. My name’s Lily, and I’ll be serving you today.” She said the customary thing that she had been saying all bloody afternoon, and continued. “So, what can I get for you?” The line was so out-of-character for her, but that was what she was required to say. The fake smile was once again plastered to her face as she stood by the table, and waited for them to order. She recognized the boy’s face, but she couldn’t remember from where. She didn’t question it, though, and just waited for his order.

Benny needed to get away from the venue for a bit. so he had wandered around. and just happened to ome across the Malter Cafe. He hadn't been there so he had decided to try it out. He walked in and sat down. He was quite a bit preoccupied as he looked at the menu. Just then Benny snapped out of it when he saw Lily there. WORKING... wow.. how the mighty have fallen it seemed. But he wasn't going to say that to her face. He wasn't that mean.
"well good afternoon, Miss Lily. I guess... may i please have a hot chocolate and two cookies. Thanks in advance" He said kindly to her. He wasn't going to try and make her life a living hell.

Lily rolled her eyes when he called her ‘Miss Lily’, and didn’t even bother to write down his order. She nodded. “I’ll be right back, then!” She said with a false cheerfulness. Her smile vanished when she turned around, and she rolled her eyes. She went, and got his order. The guy behind the counter was giving her trouble, and she just felt like smacking him. Reminding her to smile, to be courteous, to get their order with little to no fuss…what was she, five? She was capable of doing this job without little bloody reminders every two seconds from a guy that was way too desperate to keep everything running smoothly. She took the plate and glass back to the guy’s table and set them down with a smile.
“If there’s anything else you need, just let me know!” She said with the same kind of smile in the same tone, and almost turned around and left, before it clicked where she had seen his face. She tuned back around and faced him. “Aren’t you that guy that I bumped into in Hogsmeade a month or-so ago? …Umm…Benny! Benny Gallagher, right?” She asked. She knew it was a long-shot, but for some reason, that name and his face seemed to go together in her mind. She waited for some sort-of response, wondering if she was right or not.

Benny smirked because well, hell he had to tell the guys about this. He wondered how they would react. Or if they would care, because of all the drama that was going around in the Lost Boys camp and the people close to the guys. And Lily wasn't close to them in any way shape or form. They were never going to be friends with her. or at least they would never be so close that would matter to them if she was around.
But then again, aside from the minor aurguments they may have with her, they didn't totally hate her guts. They just rather not mess with the black hearted Potter. Or at least the guys thought she was black hearted. But Benny still thanked her graciously for serving him his order. Because that was how he was raised and hell he thought it might be good for someone to show some kindness to her that day.
He took a sip of his drink that she had delivered over to him. It warmed him up on a cold day like today. He was going to take another sip of his drink, when she asked him something. He was quite surprised that he was remembered by her. "why yes, yes i am him..." He said with a curious look.

By this point, Lily was already used to everyone knowing all her business. Even though she didn't like it, it wasn't like there was anything she could do about it. She wasn't as influential as she used to be, and at the moment, the only two people willing to help her were buried under their own drama, those two people being Scorpius and Kara Johnson. It wasn't like they could handle anything else on their plate, especially with the more and more vicious rumors that spread hourly about them. Even though she was used to it, and she wanted this endless spread of rumors about her stopped, she couldn't go to Kara, Scorpius, and she couldn't stop them herself, so she was stuck.
She shook her head at his curious look. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She snapped. Two seconds later, she sighed. "Sorry. It's just that I've been getting way too many of those kinds of looks right now." She said, in a slightly defeatist tone of voice. She shrugged, as if to herself, after he thanked her. "Just let me know if you need anything." She said, and turned to walk away.
