Standing in the snow she looked around and smiled softly. She loved the snow when it came to Hogwarts. Reflecting she thought back to the last few weeks. Luke had finally asked her to be his girlfriend and she was a bit more hyper then she usually was as she thought about it. The always positive and always happy Rose was even more positive and even more happy. Rose spun once then looked around the snow and smiled softly. Holding onto her cloak she breathed in and looked around taking in a deep cold breath. Winter was her favorite time of year when she was at Hogwarts. Perfect and white. No matter the footprints in the snow. It was beautiful as if from a painting.

Lily was so sick of this situation. Everyone hated her, she had almost no money, and her family kept coming over to her, and trying to reconcile things. She was just staying away from people in general, at this point. No one could blame her, though. She had already suffered enough torture. Most of her wardrobe had been burned down, all her dresses, her headbands, and her expensive designer shoes were gone. She had some of the jewelry left, but some of it had been stolen. All she had had left was what she had worn before she had really gotten into the whole ‘Slytherin Royalty’ thing. Just jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers. She used to be a very casual dresser, before all this started. She had re-bought some things in the muggle world, using the money that she was making working at her father’s café, but it wasn’t much, and she was more inclined to stay in her uniform while walking around the school, instead of what she used to do.

But it wasn’t all that simple. People harassed her, and any secrets that her minions had saved for her were in the open, which wasn’t much, but people kept making up things, hurtful things, that she was now tuning out. She couldn’t listen to everything they said, or she’d be sobbing day in and day out. Teenagers were the worst: she was living proof. Lily rolled her eyes and continued on her way outside. She had been more spending time outside than inside, because less people were out here in the winter. She had reasoned that being lonely was better than being whispered about right in front of her face. She had on a pair of jeans, a blue t-shirt, a pair of blue sneakers, and a simple newly-bought coat. She had needed the coat, after they had burned down the collection of them that she had already had.

She wondered if Harry really knew how bad it was. She doubted it. Like he cared, anyway. He said he was doing this to better her, but Lily knew that that was such a lie. Who would do that to their own daughter if they loved them? Lily shook her head slightly, and walked onto the snowy grounds. She was so sick of the snow! She had liked it, once upon a dream, but now, it was just a hindrance. She used her wand to clear where she wanted to sit of snow, and sat down on the now-grassy spot in the middle of the snow. With a warming charm around her, she sat down and sighed. She closed her eyes and rested her head on the palm of her hand, which was balancing by her elbow on her right knee. She didn’t come out here to do anything, usually. Normally, she just came out here to be by herself. She heard someone coming up behind her, though, and saw Rose Weasley, of all people. Was this someone that had come to harass her, or was she trying to “repair their relationship” like the rest of the Weasleys were?

Lily stood up, and looked straight at Rose. “What do you want, Rose? Are you coming like every other member of your family to try and “repair our relationship”?” She asked, sardonically.

Dancing and twirling she stood there being silent. Taking a deep breath of the cool air and closed her eyes. Swallowing she smiled and looked around then stopped seeing her cousin. Tilting her head she was confused at what she was doing out here all alone. Rose knew little of what was going on with the Potters because it seemed Lily wanted nothing to do with her childhood best friend. Rose looked down remembering the first time Lily has disowned Rose as he family. On the train. Rose had offered to let her stay in her compartment and Lily claimed she didn’t know her. Making an effort all these years to find out why Lily acted the way she did toward Rose was all she could remember since her second year when Lily was in her first. Shaking her head she heard Lily speak and stopped walking over to her. Looking down she shook her head. ”No. I was just wondering if you were alright.”she asked her.

She hated Rose. Not really, but that’s what she kept telling herself. The girl, just like her brother, had the ability to undo her, her façade, and everything that she had worked so hard to keep in place. Lily had distanced herself from her family all those years, and now they were all coming back all of a sudden, just because she was disowned, and they thought that they could offer “help” just to get her to stop being mad at them. She thought the whole thing was pathetic. She knew that that wasn’t why Rose was here, though. She knew Rose was here to get inside her head. Rose was a writer, and was good with words, so she knew exactly what to say to get things out of people. Lily knew that from her own experiences with the girl.

When they were little, they used to be really close. That had changed on the train ride, though. Lily had wanted to find her own independence, and Rose had been crushing it. She had ‘disowned’ Rose. From there, their relationship had went further and further down the drain, and by that time, Lily had already been sucked in by Kara and her promises of popularity and Slytherin Royalty, and so she had made no efforts to reconcile with the girl. Lily had grown to despise Rose over time, because she was exactly what a Weasley was supposed to be, and Lily had been told that she couldn’t act like them, because she was in line to be Queen, and she couldn’t hang out with them, because she was in line to be Queen. So what had Lily done? She had listened, and broke it off altogether.

“Of course I’m okay. Why would I not be okay?” She asked, in a heavily sarcastic tone. She didn’t really care what Ro had to say. She knew that she’d just be trying to do her little ‘do-good’ acts, and that was it. And it was only because she was a Weasley. That was the only reason. No one else would’ve cared, if they hadn’t been related to her. Rose would have anyways, she supposed. They had been childhood friends, after all, and Lily was sure that Rose thought that she could use that to her advantage to get into Lily’s head. Lily almost snorted. If she thought that, she was so, very wrong.

Removing snow alittle more she sat near her and looked at her. She was always worried about Lily. Rose was afraid of losing her all together and she swallowed hard and looked at her. Looking down she swallowed and glanced at the ground. ”You seem upset or angry. I just wanted to make sure. You can never be too sure nowadays.”she said softly resting her hands in her lap and looked up at the sky. ”Do you remember that one winter the year before I came here? You and your family came to the burrow for Christmas.”she said and smiled and laughed lightly. ”Oh Christmas Eve before bed we pelted Hugo and Albus with snowballs. We made snow angels and our fathers helped us build a snowman. Oh that was the best Christmas. The next year I remember you were sad that I was at school and you weren’t. I got you a present. Do you remember what it was?”she asked looking at her younger cousin.

Lily remembered that Christmas. It was her favorite, too. She wondered why it was Rose’s favorite, though. She and Lily weren’t friends right now. If Lily had been Rose, she would’ve hated that memory because the two of them weren’t getting along anymore. That wasn’t the type of girl Rose was, though. Lily knew that. She wasn’t stupid. She just stared at the ground as the memory washed over her. She remembered the snow angels, and the snowmen, and the quality time spent with Harry and Ron, her uncle and her former-father. She remembered it all. And the quality that she remembered it with scared her slightly, as if she had held onto the memory.

“The heart pendant.” She whispered. She still had it. It had been a thin, silver chain and a small, gold heart. She had loved it with all her heart, and had worn it until her royalty had gotten in the way, and she had been forced to start wearing more extravagant jewelry, and more extravagant…well…everything. Lily knew that it was still in her jewelry box. It wasn’t worth much, and so that was why it hadn’t been stolen. Lily felt her heart warm up at the mention of that present. Then she shook her head, hard, and inched away from Rose. “Stay away from me, okay? You and your reminiscing can be taken somewhere else. They’re not wanted here. Not those memories.” She said, and her tone shook slightly, showing that she was lying. She almost started swearing, but didn’t, and kept quiet as she waited for Rose to respond.

Looking down she smiled hearing Lily. She remembered. That made Rose happy. ”Yea. I remember walking by a shop with mum and I saw it. I asked her if I could get it for you. I remember I didn’t have much money but the clerk gave it to me cheap. I told her I was buying it for my favorite cousin. I gave her all I had for that pendant. I remember you didn’t wanna take it off but Aunt Ginny made you. You loved it so much.”she said softly sitting there. Rose remember how over the next few years Lily had stopped wearing or liking anything that her family bought her. Rose thought it was something she had done. Something that caused Lily to hate her but Rose had barely been able to talk to her. Looking down she took a deep breath then saw her shake her head and tell her to stay away. By now Rose could tell when Lily was lying. Atleast this Lily. The vulnerable and innocent one. Blinking she sat there watching her. ”That’s a lie and you know it. You miss those memories. Until now you have forgotten. They were your favorite. You miss those times.”

Lily drew in a shallow breath. The story sounded so sweet, and it made her heart want to burst. It was so nice that Rose had used all her money just to buy her something, of all people. Lily wanted to tell Rose that she had appreciated it, and that she had kept it all these years, but she stopped herself. She had already made herself too vulnerable, in her eyes. She looked stupid, now. She was starting to break down already. Rose was good. She felt like closing her eyes and ears like a small child and pretending like Rose didn’t exist, or what she was saying wasn’t true. That she was lying. But she couldn’t do that, either.

Rose’s next words rang true again, and they forced Lily to stand up, physically separating herself from the girl another step. She knew that this was just another sign of weakness, and how she was letting the older girl get to her, but she couldn’t help it. “No, I don’t! I’m not lying, you’re just delusional. Leave me alone, okay? I don’t need any of you! I don’t need to be friends with any of you, I don’t need your help, and I don’t want you as my family. Don’t you get it? I don’t need you!” She said, her voice shaking once more. Irrational tears were starting to gather in her eyes, but she did her best to keep them at bay. Ro would have always been the one to break her down…she should’ve known that since the beginning.

Watching her cousin, Rose felt like she was breaking the wall. They had practically been sisters when they were little. Rose and Lily were always together. Atleast most of the time when they were little. Being that her Uncle Harry and her own parents were best friends. Of course they would always be together. Watching her stand she sat there then looked up at her. Taking a deep breath she stood and looked at her. Rose shook her head as she spoke. ”No. I’m not lying Lily! I’m not the delusional one. I will never leave you alone because I love you Lily. I have always thought of you as the little sister I always wanted then you met Kara. You acted like we didn’t exist but we do. We are your family. We love you. You want us as your family and you know. Don’t let that Slytherin Royalty brainwash you. You know I’m right!”she said to her cousin and saw her. She saw the tears wanting to form. Moving toward her Rose took a chance and hugged Lily. Rose figured she’d push her away or something but Rose knew she had to. She knew that Lily needed it.

She watched as Rose stood up, too, and heard her words. And they were all true. She knew that Rose loved her. They had been practically attached at the hip when they were younger. They had loved to mess with their brothers, and had memories together. But Lily had been running from that, pretending like none of them existed because it had been easier for her to deal with. She hadn’t wanted them to get trapped in her wars and her web of deception and lies. It had all started when Kara had seen potential in her, and then it had continued to when Lily had become something that Kara hadn’t foreseen. She had gone a little crazy with the power, and had abused it. That had been her downfall. She knew that she would probably never be in their group again. At least, properly. People weren’t afraid of her anymore, and her reign was over because of it. She was done.

She felt when Rose hugged her, and she ended up starting to cry. She hated this whole thing. The whole situation just tugged at all the wrong heartstrings. She couldn’t say that she didn’t miss them, though. She missed Rose. It didn’t matter that she had been hiding that fact for six years. Rose knew now, which was sort-of like saying that she had lost, but in other ways, won. She hugged Rose back, and then her tears started to slow. She let go of Rose, and looked at her. “How do you do that? You’re always the one.” Lily said with a slight shake of her head. She didn’t really know what to say as she wiped at her eyes for a second, removing the evidence of the tears, though her eyes were bloodshot red, and the skin around them was red and puffy. She waited for Rose to answer her question, and just looked at her.

Standing there with her arms still around Lily, Rose heard her start crying and rubbed her back lightly. Rose wanted to make her feel better. Loving her little cousin like a sister she couldn’t just leave her alone. She loved Lily and nothing would change that. Not even Lily’s pushing her away. When the hug finally ended she looked at her and shrugged. ”I don’t know. I just know I want you to feel better. I love you Lily. Your like the sister I’ve always wanted. Then you met Kara and…I feel like I lost my baby sister. I just want to make you feel better.”she said looking at her. She pulled a hanky and handed it to her. Rose just wanted to help her feel better.

Rose was so simple. Lily didn't understand it. If it had been anyone else, they would've been pushed away and wouldn't care anymore. Not Rose. Rose persisted, along with the rest of the Weasley, Potter, and Longbottom families. Lily didn't really know what to say. It was really weird to be back and talking to Rose, but she guessed she didn't really have a choice. Well, she sort-of did, but she didn't feel like pushing her away right now. Then, she felt a rush of anger. She knew that Kara was responsible for her becoming what she used to be, but only Lily was allowed to say things like that, and it didn't matter to her that that statement was true. "Kara didn't do anything. It was all my choice to become Queen. She had nothing to do with any of it." She said harshly. And the lie would go undetected, Lily had made sure. Hert voice sounded like it had been dipped in ice.

Lily had never been given a choice about being in what circle. Kara had taken to her, and they had become great friends, along with Scorpius Malfoy and Lucian Avery. She was pulled into the popular circle, and she loved every minute of the attention she got. Kara taught her on how to be a mini-her, and Lily just followed along, wanting to be liked and wanting to please her best friend. The four's antics had continued, and they had stayed together. She started dating Scorpius, and Kara started dating Lucian. They stayed together, until Kara started to fall for Scorpius, and she, for Lucian. The couples had broken up, and then Kara had started to date Scorpius, while she dated Lucian. Everything sort-of went to hell after that, with Scorpius getting disowned, Kara and Lucian constantly fighting, Kara getting pregnant, Scorpius and Kara getting married, and her and Lucian broke up. She moved away from Rose, once again. She remembered when her and Rose got into a fight about who she was hanging out with, and how she was changing because of those 'stupid slytherins'. That had been one of the main reasons that she and Lily had stopped talking, among others.

Rose stood there looking at Lily. Biting her lip she took a deep breath and looked down shaking her at Lily. She never believed it when Lily spoke like this. ”You honestly expect me to believe that? You may be able to lie to everyone else but I know otherwise. Kara turned you into a monster. I love you Lily. You’re my baby cousin and I love you. Seeing you like this kills me. You know how much I want to kill Lucian for what he did to you? I want to beat the shit out of him. I hate him because he hurt you. Your family. You hurt one you hurt all. Lily, Kara turned you into a people pleaser and a monster.”she told her and watched as she moved away from her and stepped toward her again. Taking a deep breath she looked at her. ”Don’t Lily.”

"DON'T bring him up if you know what's good for you, Rose!" Lily said. She hated that Rose had to bring him up, no matter what she had to say about him. Hearing his name was like a stake to the heart, one that almost killed her every single time. That's why, when people had to talk about him, they either moved away from her, or if they hated her, they'd stay and keep talking, wanting to make her hurt. Lily just tried to ignore those people, though, as she was getting more and more practice because of the more unsavory things that had been starting to come out of people's mouthes lately.

She hated Rose right now. "Stop talking so badly about her! She didn't do anything wrong. She didn't change me. I changed me! So leave her out of this, alright? Or our truce, or whatever we had, just goes down the drain, Rose." Lily said threateningly. It didn't matter that what she said was true, it still didn't mean that Rose could get away with saying it. She was what she was now, talking about it and placing the blame didn't do anything to the situation but get her mad.
