Dear Jeri,

I'm falling in love with someone of the same gender. I've never thought of myself as queer.. even though I have glanced at those of the same gender from time to time. I never thought that I could be with anyone that was the same gender as myself. Its an odd strange feeling as I dream about kissing this person, holding them close to me. But ever since I met this person...a month ago they are the one person I can't get off my mind. Its affecting my school work! I can't think I can't function.. I'm falling behind.. Is this normal? Is it okay to be in love with someone of the same gender? I've always felt like it was wrong... but maybe I was wrong to think that? What should I do?

Dear Love Confused,

You’re in love. Of course it is normal. I am very happy that you are finding love. There aren’t many that can find love nowadays. Anyways, you should know it is perfectly fine to fall in love with someone of your own gender. You would not be the first and you sure wont be the last. You should know that it is not wrong. It is completely natural. By the sound of it though you were wrong to think that because you have these feelings. I suggest following through with these feelings. If you love something go after it. Even if you must fight for it. You should go through with it. Trust me. You might regret it if you don’t. I hoped this helped you.
