now, get out of my sight... Scorpius was absolutely livid with his ex-father. That was the only thing on his mind at the moment. He couldn’t get past Kara’s retelling of what had happened with her and Draco. The Malfoys were taking it too far this time, and he couldn’t think of anything to do to stop it. He wasn’t a Malfoy, and hadn’t been one for close to a month. What was his father doing, trying to talk to his wife? His pregnant wife? Did his…Draco want him to taking him to the Ministry and get a restraining order? Did his…Draco want him to take legal action? No matter what Scorpius called himself, he still had the Malfoy training imbedded into his mind, and what happened when someone you didn’t like/get along challenged you? You took it to the authorities and played the victim in the situation. This time, he wasn’t playing.
He was done playing the Malfoy game. The manipulating, mind-blowing, psychologically-challenging game that his father had taught him to play when he was younger was the one that was being played right now, he knew. He had been taught not only how to play, but how to recognize it. He hated the bloody games that all Malfoys played. It was ridiculous. They were adults, not children! It was time to put childish things away, and to face things like adults. But, of course, none of his family ever did. All they did was pretend like nothing they ever did was wrong and then get away with it, smirking to themselves as if it was a job well done. Scorpius never did things like that, and he figured that it was probably because he was the only bloody sane one in the whole family. His grand-parents were crazy, as were his parents…he was the only remaining one. Well, he didn’t exactly count, did he? He wasn’t a Malfoy anymore. He was a Johnson. He had married Kara and taken her last name for a reason. He wasn’t a Malfoy anymore, and he had to keep reminding himself that.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, picking up a pebble and skipping it across the Lake. While most people came out just to sit by it, he came and skipped rocks, one of the things that calmed him down. Another thing was just jumping in and swimming, but the wind was much too cold for that today, sadly, and so he settled for pitching the pebbles across the black surface of the Lake. He flicked his wrist and watched as another flew across, watching it skip eleven times before stopping and falling to the bottom. He knew that when the Giant Squid awoke, probably later in the day, that the pebbles would be thrown back and there for him when he needed them once more. He took a deep breath and let another one fly, trying to keep the thoughts of his former-family, if he could call them that, out of his head. It was impossible, though. They were coming to the forefront more and more, and he just didn’t know how to stop it, especially with the fact that now his father was surrounding his family. Would they ever leave him alone? They had disowned him, they had almost caused him to kill his cousin, they had made his life so far miserable…when would it ever be enough for them? Would it ever be enough for them? He picked up another pebble and threw it as hard as he could, watching as it just impacted the surface, causing ripples, and sank to the bottom of the Lake. He doubted that anything would ever be enough for Draco Malfoy. Give him an inch, and he’d take a yard. That’s how it was with all the Malfoys. Gimme, gimme, gimme. They never stopped, it never ended…and it never would.

Draco wondered the grounds looking around. It was nice to get a break from work. His wife was busy working and he knew not to bug her when she was concentrating like she was. Besides, Draco liked being away from Astoria every once in a while. With his hands in his pockets he took a deep breath of the chilled air. Tilting his head he thought back to when his father had treated him horribly and yet Draco never seemed to follow him. He smiled as he thought about when he dated Hermione. It had been secret but he had truly loved Hermione but they had both agreed to break up and to keep it a secret. From everyone. Even their spouses. Swallowing the lump in his throat he looked down. That’s when it hit him. He wasn’t happy. Draco hadn’t been happy for years. After the death of his mother….Draco Malfoy hadn’t been happy.
Looking toward the lake he saw someone familiar. He laughed. Walking toward him he stood behind him and crossed his arms. ”I use to come out here to think too.”he said looking at his son. Licking his lips lightly he looked at Scorpius and waited for a response. He knew his son hated him. Draco took a deep breath because Draco had done nothing to Scorpius. He had always been a father to Scorpius. He hated his father, Lucius, because he blamed him for everything. The death of his mother. His son hating him. Everything. Draco looked down swallowing hard at the thought of what his father had done to him. He had vowed that he would never do that to his kids. And He hadn’t ever done it to Scorpius. Ever….

It was time once again for Lucius Malfoy to take his annual trip to Hogwarts for the year. Well, he could say that it was more than annual, more like a pop in type of thing from time to time. It varied how much he showed up, but he was always welcome, him being a Hogwarts alumni and all. The ever familiar cane tapped the cobblestone walk way through the lawn and up to Hogwarts. Lucius closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The day was beautiful, one that was perfect to be outdoors like this. So why go into the castle to make his debut? Why not just stay out here and find the very people that he wanted to find. Seemed logically to him.
Walking by way of the lake, he spotted two people that were the object of his interest. "Well, well, well. If it isn't my god forsaken disgrace of a son and my not such a disgrace grandson. Having a bit of a family reunion I see? Isn't this just... splendid." A sneer was visible on his lips and his voice was cold and uncaring, as it normally was. Leaning a bit onto his cane, Lucius looked at the two of them, changing his sneer to a that infamous Malfoy smirk. "Scorpius. You seem a bit, distraught. What might have caused this?" Lucius was so behind in everything that was going on. The news of Scorpius being married hadn't reached him yet, but he did know about Scorpius and Draco not speaking to one another.
Such a tragedy. Maybe I'll make this a bit more interesting.' Lucius thought to himself. A small chuckle escaped from his lips as he couldn't help but be enthused that he could potentially turn their lives upside down. The old mans life had now gotten a bit more interesting and that was important when you were as old as him. Plus, Lucius had other motives. Scorpius was a huge asset to the Malfoy family and he wasn't about to let him get away. If there was some way for Lucius to convince Scorpius to team up with his old grand dad, it would be the greatest thing that happened to the family in a long time. Well the best thing since Draco disgraced the family name so many years ago.

now, get out of my sight... Scorpius hadn’t heard his father come up behind him. He was normally quite observant, seeing things in the environment that surrounded him that other people didn’t think to notice, but not this time. Now, he was just focusing on skipping the rocks he picked up across the dark, murky surface of The Black Lake. It was helping to calm him down, to not march up to his father and start something that would probably end up in legal matters…and so he continued. That was, until he heard his father start to speak. His whole body tensed up, and the pebble that had been in his hand, ready to throw, stilled. He threw it, though, and then turned to his ex-father. What did the man think he had, something in common with him? The only thing they had in common was blood and looks, when he wasn’t using his metamorphmagus powers. The man was completely on the wrong side of the fence of sanity, Scorpius thought, and his face hardened.
“So? Why should that have anything to do with me?” Scorp asked, his voice cold. He hated this man more than anyone he had ever hated. He knew that that was wrong of him to say, but he couldn’t even bring himself to care. He had had a bad childhood, he had been treated as if he was someone else’s child being taken mercy upon by the Malfoys; no love, no attention…nothing. He had been raised by house elves, for Merlin’s sakes! It was impossible to say that Scorpius had no reason to hate the man he used to call ‘Father’. “Why are you even here? Come to play mind-games with your son? Oh, sorry, ex-son?” Scorpius asked, putting as much sarcasm as he could on ‘ex’ without choking.
Then, all of a sudden, he heard his grandfather’s voice and his head snapped back to see where he was. Why was Lucius Malfoy at Hogwarts? Oh, right. He did visit sometimes, as did some of the other alumna of the school. Scorpius knew that Lucius had never really liked Draco, after that mess up he had been told of all those years before, but shouldn’t he be hated as well? He had been disowned…but he hadn’t disowned himself. Draco and Astoria did. Maybe Lucius was holding it against him? Scorpius didn’t know anymore, the whole Malfoy family was just too hard to figure out at times, even if he had been raised in it. …He seemed a bit distraught? Maybe it was because of his former-father, standing right in front of him, acting as if nothing had happened over the years! “He…your son is…he came out here to talk to me. I don’t know why, I don’t want to know why, but after all he’s done to me, and then harassing my wife…I don’t even want to see him, let alone talk to him.” Scorpius said, shooting his father a glare. Honestly, he was soon going to get past the point of rational thought. He’d probably just curse his ex-father and go into the castle, leaving Lucius to sort it out. He waited, though, wondering just what was going to happen since his grandfather had showed up.

Draco stood there and looked down. He was about to speak but then his damn father came out. Draco cursed himself and just wanted to walk away from his father but his son was here. Listening to them he turned and just stared at the lake before turning back toward his father and son. ”Screw you Lucius. Ya know…I should have seen it sooner. You’re a bastard that should have died. Not mum. You’re the reason she’s dead. You’re the reason my son hates me. It’s all your damn fault so you know what. Go to hell, Lucius.”he said spitting toward him but making sure it hit the ground before he turned and began walking away. Wanting to change his life he made a mental note to meet up with an ex-girlfriend.
