Suddenly, Sebastian blurted out, “Why? Give me a reason why you’re not afraid. Tell me what makes you sure that I won’t ever hurt you?” With anger all over his face, he also thought, ‘I’ve already turned you. Isn’t that enough reason!?’, his eyes searching hers for recognition.
Bastian then put his arms around her, but then pulled her back, so that she wasn’t clinging onto him. He needed to tell her, or rather lie, why they couldn’t be together. Then, as he quickly thought of something, he remembered her current ‘weakness’, “You don’t want me. I don’t deserve you... but Frank does. Besides, I like someone else. It’s... ” he sighed, trying to keep it as honest as possible, “...just not going to work.”

Jumping a little when he blurted she just stood there holding him still. She refused to let him go. ”Because you care about me. I let you do everything. I let you drink from me. Yea you turned me but part of me wanted it. Most of me wanted it. Sebastian…I care a lot about you too. You wont hurt me.”she said then looked at him as he pushed her back. Lucy winced hearing him. She loved Frankie. More then she had ever cared or liked Sebastian. Looking down she wanted to cry. She wanted to hit him. Clutching her fist she looked down and away. He was doing this to hurt her. Little Lucy. Never amount to anything Lucy. Always going to be a tree climber and nothing more, Lucy. She had heard that from so many people and now she was hearing It’s just not going to work out Lucy.

Swallowing she looked up at him. ”Sebastian…you don’t deserve anything. If my heart was beating I’d be dead from it breaking right now. You deserve death and I hope it comes. Because I will send flowers and candy to the person that kills you. One of these days your gonna drive someone over the edge.”she said and turned to walk away but stopped and turned back to him. ”I hope your happy. You just lost of the best things that happened to you….Someone that actually wasn’t scared of you.”she said softly then turned again and ran off with her speed out of the school. She needed to feed. Her angry had been building and she would never take it out on him so she would take it out on someone that actually deserved it. A criminal.

He stared at Lucy with a blank expression as not to reveal any emotion, but he wanted to smirk. He was quite cold now, a talented actor. He liked the idea that she succumbed to his charms and she let him drink from her on a regular basis. Then, it seemed that she wanted more from him that he couldn’t give her, as if she had Stockholm Syndrome, but obviously wasn’t a captor. Very coldly, and almost under his breath, he retorted, “So what if I do? Does it matter? You’ll always belong to him and your heart will always be his.” Again, his face expressionless, but his eyes revealed a lot more than he was letting on.

Then, sweet soft Lucy showed her new colours, throwing emotional knives at him, with each one hitting him with a different affect. Bastian glared at her. He had expected her to be hurt, but not this much that she wished death on him. He frowned at her harsh words and was conflicted with what to do. If he didn’t go after her, his intention of keeping his distance would have worked. However, if he didn’t go after Lucy, he would most likely lose her, forever. He sighed, and sped on after her.

When he finally caught up, he grabbed her by the arm, just as she had stopped him before only minutes earlier, now seeing a glistening red in her eyes from the blood lust. “Admit that you didn’t mean any of that!” he pleaded. “Don’t pretend that you would rather choose me over Frankie and don’t think for a second that you can say all that stuff and get away with it.”

Lucy growled hearing him before she had left. She wanted nothing more to do with him. He was horrid to her. A monster. She was obviously wrong. He didn’t care about her. But she wouldn’t bring herself to believe that. Sebastian cared for her. He always had and she knew he always would. As she walked toward the victim she had chosen. Feeling someone grab her by the arm she growled and tried to force them to let her go then looked up and saw Sebastian. Hearing him she growled again.

”You’re the one that’s treating me horrible. Why should I take back what I said? You’re lying to me. Trying to make yourself believe it’s all true when we both know that it’s not true. I’m not going to pretend that I want you over Frankie. Because I will always belong to Frankie but you….you know our relationship wouldn’t work. He’s alive Sebastian. He has a heartbeat. He can breathe. He doesn’t have to hunt for his food. I will always have to. I wont give him this life. I want him to be happy and he can’t because I’m dead. But you and I have a different relationship that Frankie and I will never have. You turned me. That bond is a strong bond. You feel it as much as I do. You care about me and I can see it pains you to see me like this. Hurting and broken. So yes. I can say all of it and get away with it. Because I’m brave enough to take the pain.”she said looking up at him. It killed her to say it but she knew it had to be said.

Sebastian frowned a little at Lucy’s growl. He hadn’t really expected a warm welcome, but he didn’t expect such anger either. “What!? Lucy, do you understand how confusing you are?” and he now took her by the other arm. “You’re telling me that I’m only second to Frankie, but you can’t be with him because of me... because I turned you. And then you blame me for trying to protect myself and practically tell me you wanna be with me.” Bastian now let go of her, sighed and turned away. He didn’t know what to make of it or what to do. “You think I don’t feel? ...That I have no emotions!? God, Lucy, I’m more human than you are! Of course I care!” And he now turned back around to face her, “But you want to be with him. What am I meant to do?” And now he was just as angry. He needed to take out his rage out on something and he wanted to hit a wall.

Lucy stood there looking at him. She stood there and stared at the ground. ”I know I am. I can’t help it.”she said looking at him as he grabbed her other arm. Sighing she looked down. She didn’t know what to do. ”Sebastian….why do you care? I mean…I’m just a new vampire giving you hell. You came after me. You shouldn’t care about me yet you do. Tell me why….”she said softly and winced hearing him and bit her lip. ”I never said you couldn’t feel Seb…You just…nevermind….”she said and turned away from him. Looking down she wanted to run….she wanted to run and never come back. ”Fine someone….fine someone that will make you happy…”she said looking down as her hair became a curtain and covered her face. Reaching up she covered her face with her hands wishing she could cry the tears that would never come.

Breathing heavily from his enraged state, Bastian listened to Lucy and it didn’t help matters any. It forced him to feel different emotions at a very rapid speed and it just confused his thoughts more. “Because we were friends first, that’s why!” he said before thinking, although he truly wanted to say that they were more than just friends. She was right – the bond he didn’t want to recognise was a lot stronger than what he first acknowledged. Yet, Lucy was the first girl he had turned, and being a teenager didn’t help the heightened innuendo either. \

“I just, what, Lucy? What were you gonna say,” he demanded. He knew they needed to be truthful right now, no matter what the emotions or consequences. Sebastian was very confrontational like this, yet he always sought for resolution at the same time, and it didn’t seem Lucy was as cooperative as he.

He frowned as she closed off from him with her body language. He whispered very softly, “I’ve found you,” forgetting that Lucy’s hearing could pick up on it.

Lucy heard him and looked down. She just wanted to run. Run far away and never come back ever again. She couldn’t face Sebastian any more. Hearing him she licked her lips. ”Friends…”she said softly but didn’t have a hint of anything in her voice. Swallowing hard she just stood there. Nothing she could do or say could make this right. She heard him demand her to tell him and she grew angry but that fire went out soon after. ”You just treat me like everyone else. does. Like I’m nothing…”she said looking at her hands.

Taking a false breath she looked down wishing for tears that would never come. She gasped hearing what he said and then turned toward him. ”Not me, Bastian. Not me. Someone who can give you what you want. Who can give you what you deserve. Who can give you what you need. I have nothing that you want deserve or need.”she said softly looking at him. Lucy wasn’t sure if she had heard him right but she still meant what she said.

Sebastian tilted his head at Lucy, a small furrow in his forehead due to his confusion. It seemed like she mirrored his feelings, but was saying something completely different, like she needed to push him away. He didn’t like it, but right in the moment, he didn’t want to further embarrass himself by pledging feelings for her and then being rejected... for a mortal. She was right, though. They were ‘just friends’, and nothing more, even though they shared the vampire bond. In a suppressed rage, he spat out, “That’s because we’re friends! Lucy...” a small pause, “...what are you getting all worked up about?” wanting to desperately know now.

“Right.” he said coldly, hurt by her imminent rejection. He took a step closer, “So, no matter what I do or say, you already made your mind up?” Bastian then took a few steps backwards. A heavy breath at the realisation that she wasn’t joking, “You didn’t even give me a chance, and then you yell at me for not caring.” Sebastian shook his head and gave her a disgusted look. “Fine. Whatever,” Bastian turned away and started walking, but then stopped, turned his head back and said, “You’ve made your choice.” Then, as if a gust of wind had passed through the area, Sebastian had left with his super speed.

Standing there she looked up at him and shook her head. Lucy couldn’t looked at him because now she was looking at the ground. ”I’m getting worked up because I am tired of being treated like I’m worth nothing. That I’m some child that doesn’t know what she’s doing. Well ya know what. I’m not nothing. I’m someone. I’m young but I’m not a bloody child. I’m a teenager in love.”she said looking at him. She was a bit surprised when he stepped closer her breathing grew shallow. ”No I haven’t. I haven’t made my mind. I’m just tired of being treated like this. When I was still alive I sensed that you were just using me to get blood Sebastian. But I ignored it because I loved you.”she spoke softly then saw him step away and swallowed.

She hadn’t meant any of what she said as a rejection. She shook her head. ”Because you acted like you didn’t care about me.”she said softly then saw the look on his face and she realized this was bad. Hearing him she winced as it cut through her like she was dying again and looked at him. ”No. Sebastian please.”she said but it was too late. He was already gone. Blinking she looked down and felt her eyes burning but no tears came. As she walked back to the castle she sobbed softly and knew it was too late. The damage was done and Lucy….

She knew she had lost Sebastian…..
