personality;;
Riley is usually an honest, straightforward and patient person. He is a modest, shy character who prefers to work quietly behind the scenes and when others disappear he is often there to offer support. Riley is reserved with those he doesn‘t know too well, but as time passes he gains confidence and other people may discover that he is a lively and warm-hearted person behind the mask of aloofness. Despite having a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, Riley has only a few close friends who understand him and who share his inner thoughts and feelings. It is easy to trust Riley; he won't let you down and will never even try to. He is a person who simply wants to do everything right according to the social control.
Riley is not a vengeful person, and if someone has tried to take and advantage of him, he has a tendency to withdraw to reflect on the problem and to look for ways to protect himself. All he needs in such a situation is a little time to find a constructive way to respond. Riley is a person who is conservative and has his habits. That is, he likes to have a structured routine to his day. A planned schedule. Riley doesn’t like to travel too far from the places he knows, places that are familiar, unless he is going on a trip to the country. Riley loves nature and is never happier than when he is out in the country, far away from the city.
On the other hand, there is a tolerant and peaceful side to Riley’s character. He isn’t afraid to allow others their freedom of expression; and likes to avoid an argument when and if at all possible. Unlike what other people might think, Riley isn’t weak. If he has to fight, he will rise to the occasion, whether it’s to defend himself, a friend, or a family member. Riley is the type of person that once you get to know him, you admire him.
Riley is definitely a dreamer. With his creative imagination and love of thinking of what could or may happen, you can catch him sitting silently and staring off into space sometimes. Even though he is a dreamer, however, and it may look like he’s too occupied to notice something, Riley is also very aware of his surroundings and is sharp enough to realize what’s going on. Riley’s reputation is important to him, and although he is happy to be the target of gentle jokes, there is always a possibly that the joke will hurt him when someone is trying to unjustly accuse him of something or being openly vindictive.
Riley likes to believe that all men and women on some level are basically good. He is the type who constantly sacrifices his own happiness and comfort for the sake of his friends and family.
Riley is known to be sensitive, sweet and naïve, but caring. He is romantic and certainly the marriage type. The problem with this is that Riley tends to put all his trust into a relationship, and some people do take advantage of this apparent naivety. One thing you can say about Riley is that no matter how much pain he’s in, no matter how upset he is, he always finds the strength to stand up, pick himself up, and start again.
Riley is a tolerant person who will allow his partner the freedom they need, but it has to be based on affectionate and trustworthy footing. If a romantic relationship is established, Riley is the type of person who believes that the love and affection he gives his partner will be returned. It is important for his partner to realize, however, that to always demand his emotional attention could make him feel trapped.
Riley is a splendid companion. He is loyal, faithful, and giving, as long as he approves of you and you’ve done nothing to hurt him or wronged him in some way. Riley rarely asks for help, preferring to do things on his own. He also cannot graciously accept help or assistance without feeling he is in your debt and that he owes you something in return. Riley is a hard working individual who tries to approach tasks seriously and efficiently.

history;;
Riley’s mother and father were like nobody else he’s ever known. While they were working most of the time, they also spent every weekend with Riley, doing things as a family. His mother being a secretary and his father a dietician, Riley grew up in what can be considered an Upper Middle Class family. True, his grandparents are definitely rich, as one grandfather is a congressman and the other is a lawyer, but Riley doesn’t really consider himself to be a spoiled person. As a child, Riley was often left with one of his grandmothers, who were his babysitters, while his parents were at work. Riley’s grandmother enjoyed taking Riley to the zoo, the park, and even to the movies with them and their friends. Some of Riley’s fondest memories are grocery shopping with his grandmothers, horseback riding with his father and grandfathers, even going to a few rugby games with his grandfathers. Riley didn’t go to the games because he loved the sport of rugby, even though he does support it, but because he loved spending the time with his parents and grandparents and that was what made it fun.
Even as a youngster, Riley had an affection for horses and dogs, just like his grandfather Tomas. He loved it when he could go to his grandfather’s farm and spend the day in the barn, brushing and taking care of the horses. He learned a lot about horses from his grandfather Tomas, while also learning a lot about gardening from his grandmother Arlene. Course, grandfather Tomas owned a flat in London and the farm. During the week, his uncle’s hired help took care of the farm, and they’d go spend weekends there.
Riley and his parents were more like friends than parents and child. Riley always thought his grandmothers cooked better than his mother and that his grandpas could definitely gold better than his dad. Some of Riley’s favorite memories are of the holidays with his parents, when the entire family was together. Holidays like Christmas where his grandmas and mom would be busy baking all kinds of delicious food while he and his father, along with his grandfathers, decorated the tree and watched the game on tv. While his father and grandparents watched the game, Riley would usually lay on the floor and read the latest book he’d borrowed from the school library or the public library, where his grandmother Alice worked as a librarian. Riley never had a baby brother or sister, he might have, were it not for the tragic accident that killed his parents when he was eight years old.
When he was eight, Riley’s parents were on their way back from a second honeymoon in Germany when their plane crashed and there were only four survivors. At the time, he was in the country with his grandparents on their farm. His parents weren’t listed among the survivors. Since then, Riley has been raised by his grandparents, going from one house to the other depending what his grandparents were doing and their schedules. With all his grandparents working, he was usually left with a babysitter his grandparents hired to come to the house and watch him. His babysitter and grandmothers basically became his mother. Of course, having no siblings to play with and having to stay in the house when not at school because the city could be dangerous meant that Riley was often playing, alone, in his room with only himself to talk to.
In school, Riley is your average student. At least, that’s what he likes to think. Ever since his parents death, he’d been more focused on being there for his grandparents when they needed him. Helping them bring in groceries, shoveling their driveways and sidewalks, mowing their lawns, taking out their trash, etc. He’s a very helpful person, and never asked his grandparents for anything in return. When they went shopping though, Riley’s grandparents always let him pick out his own clothes, and he always seemed to choose black clothes.

Hearing a rustling of grass next to him caused Riley to freeze, the only thing that moved, really, was his head, which turned to see a Pichu moving very close to him among the grass. Giving the small yellow mouse a shy smile, though he was sure the Pichu hadn't seen it, he grinned. At least, he had been grinning until he saw a Murkrow slam down into the grass and grab at Pichu. Before he could even think of moving, he heard the Pichu scream in terror and saw the small spark of electricity that had caused the Murkrow to drop the Pichu. Birds, Riley's worst fear, birds. Not just any bird, a dark bird that looked like a crow. Shivering, Riley quickly put Glameow on its feet and began to stand up himself. His eyes were on the Murkrow, and seeing it hopping after the Pichu, hopping away from him, he knew what he had to do. He wanted to run away, to get out of there, but if he did, he knew the Pichu would probably end up losing its like to the hungry bird.
"We've got to save Pichu." Riley said, knowing it was the right thing to do even though his body was telling him to run away. Swallowing his fear and looking down at Glameow, who was looking up at him uncertainly, he gathered what little courage he did have left thanks to the Murkrow's arrival. "Will you help me, Star?" he said, speaking to his Glameow. "Will you help me save Pichu?"
Seeing him Glameow nod, Riley began running after the Murkrow, his Glameow running at his side. Since the Murkrow was hopping, he didn't have to run very far before he came to a stand still, the wind whipping his cloak around him, making him look like a dark statue standing against the moon. The bird, he couldn't let the bird eat the mouse. Seeing people eating meat was painful enough, he didn't want to witness something so natural yet so brutally savage if he didn't have to. Not only that, but Riley knew that the Pichu was only a baby, it still had a lot of life to experience. He didn't want the Murkrow to cut Pichu's life short.
"Glameow, use Quick Attack." Riley said, forcing himself to stop trembling and focus on the rush of power and energy he felt running through his veins. When he gave the order, his Glameow leaped forward on all fours, leaping straight at Murkrow's back and using her shoulder to deal it a quick blow, then she leapt back toward Riley, still facing Murkrow, hissing at the dark bird.
When Murkrow felt herself being tackled, she flew forward, nearly falling on top of her prey before she hit the ground hard. "RATS!" she said, getting to her feet and turning to face her attacker. As she did so, she watched her prey, the delicious, small, juicy Pichu, run and hide behind the person who was cloaked and looked like a statue made of Onyx in the darkness. Looking from the human to the Glameow before her, she ruffled her feathers indignantly. "I'm trying to catch my dinner." she said, glaring at the Glameow. Then, without giving any warning, Murkrow gave her war cry and leaped at Glameow, pecking at Glameow's head.
Watching the battle, Riley wasn't focused on anything else. He really wanted the bird to fly away and leave them all alone. Though it seemed the Murkrow really wasn't going to go anywhere until it either got Pichu and flew off to enjoy it's meal, or until it defeated Glameow and then attacked him. Hands hanging limply at his sides, Riley felt as if the energy coursing through him was extending beyond his skin. As if the energy and power he was feeling was radiating out in the air, like an aura. Looking at his hands, he couldn't see anything different flowing around him. Though he still did feel the tingling rush of pure energy tingling in his fingers, almost like magic. Now, Riley knew he wasn't a wizard, so he knew he couldn't do magic and didn't have magical powers, so the only thing he could attribute the feelings and energy rushing through his body was aura, plain and simple. Even if he couldn't see his own Aura, he could feel it. Head snapping up, a thought occurred to him. Cats ate birds. Birds, while still covered in feathers, could be cut open with something sharp. Claws were sharp.
"Glameow!" he said, watching Glameow dodge a few attempts the Murkrow made of pecking her again. "Scratch attack, go!" he said, watching as Glameow dodged another Peck attack from Murrkow before leaping right at Murkrow's face, claws extended, and slashing a very painful looking series of claw marks across the birds face. Of course, it was then that Riley felt something small tugging at the hem of his cloak. Looking down, he smiled softly when he saw the Pichu was holding onto his cloak like a security blanket, trembling violently. Getting on one knee, Riley scooped the Pichu up in his hands, holding it close to his chest. The Pichu, knowing it was still in danger, practically leaped up beneath the cloak and onto Riley's shoulders, hiding behind his neck from the Murkrow.
Feeling the scratch to her face, the Murkrow cawed again, bringing her wings up to wipe at her face. The scratches burned, and she was sure she was bleeding. Though the scratch, while it happened, was the most painful part, the scratches themself, freshly open wounds, still burned a bit, especially when she touched them with her feathers. "I'll kill you!" she cawed, flying toward Glameow angrily, determined to get revenge for the scratches to her face. Using the energy she had left, as she felt really pooped and had been hoping for an easy meal, Murkrow hit Glameow head on with a Wing Attack.
When he was hit with the Wing Attack, Glameow yowled in pain, hitting the ground and rolling over before hitting the ground again. Wincing in pain, he meowed softly, just wishing that he didn't have to fight the stupid bird.
Riley's eyes had drifted back to the battle, even though he could feel the Pichu hiding behind his head, one of it's small paws on his neck as he felt it peeking out, as if watching for the bird that had tried to eat it. When he saw Glameow go tumbling, he gasped and rushed forward across the grass to Glameow's side. "Star!" he said, dropping to his knees beside Glameow. Pulling Glameow into his arms, Riley grit his teeth, wanting to swear and curse at the Murkrow until his throat was so hoarse he no longer had a voice. Narrowing his eyes dangerously, he looked up at the sky to see the Murkrow circling overhead. He could tell the Murkrow was watching him, and that it was watching Glameow. From such a high vantage point, he was also wondering if the Murkrow was scowering the meadow, looking for the Pichu.
"If you're looking for the Pichu, it's with me!" he shouted, glaring up at the bird. He'd been afraid of birds before, but now he really hated them. "I won't let you hurt Glameow and I won't let you kill Pichu. You want them? You have to get through me!"
Murkrow flapped her wings, circling overhead. She felt that at least if she was up in the air that the Glameow couldn't get to her, and there was less risk of the cat having a chance to eat her. Using the breeze to glide around, wings outstretched, she watched as the human rushed to Glameow and bent over it, cradling the Glameow against him. She knew the dark void she'd seen in the middle of the meadow was a human now. With the cloak billowing around, he looked like a dark cloud, though thanks to the moonlight reflecting off the boys face as he looked up at her, she knew he was human. When the boy started shouting up at her, Murkrow's beak fell open in surprise. He had her dinner? He was protecting Pichu? Feeling her stomach rumbling, Murkrow blushed in embarrassment. She didn't have much energy left, and unless she wanted to become dinner or be too tired to eat the Pichu, if she could somehow snatch it from the human, she was going to have to look elsewhere for a meal.
It just isn't worth it. Murkrow mumbled, sulking as her shoulder slumped. Then, turning on the wind, she flew off into the night, leaving the trainer and his Glameow to themselves. One thing was for sure, she would remember the Glameow's face, and if she and that Glameow ever met again, she wouldn't let the Glameow off so easy.
Watching the Murkrow fly away, Riley sighed before he hugged Glameow again, kissing the top of it's head. "It's okay Star, Murkrow's gone." he said. Then, slipping over to where he'd left his backpack, he opened it and began rummaging around inside it. He knew what he needed, and what would help Star. At least, for a while, until he could get the Glameow back to the school. Rooting around through his backpack in the dark might be stupid, though Riley knew if he didn't do it now, Glameow might not be prepared if they ran into another wild Pokémon on the way back. "Found it." he said, fingers closing over a bottle of Potion. Pulling it from his bag, he sprayed Glameow's body with it. While he'd been holding Glameow, who'd been trembling in his arms, he hadn't once seen Glameow open its eyes. Though once he sprayed Glameow with a bottle of potion, he watched as it slowly opened its eyes and turned its head to look at him.
"It's okay now." Riley said, trying to give Star a reassuring smile as he placed the now empty Potion bottle back into his backpack. "It'll all be okay." Cuddling Glameow, Riley felt something slipping down his back, sliding, really. Staying still as he rubbed his hand up and down Glameow's back, he waited, wondering what the Pichu would do. Feeling his cloak moving a bit, he watched as the Pichu crawled out from beneath his cloak, where he was sitting, looking around warily for the Murkrow that had been trying to eat it. He could've sworn that he even saw Pichu sniff the air, as if trying to smell the Murkrow before the bird could swoop down on it again.
"Murkrow's gone." he said, his gentle, soothing voice causing the Pichu to jump in surprise, turning its eyes on him. He watched as the Pichu tilted its head, watching him with Glameow. Riley looked right back into the Pichu's eyes, wanting it to know that he understood the Pichu's fear of birds, and that Pichu was now safe. Pichu, on the other hand, got a totally different message.
He saved me. Pichu thought, staring at the human as the human gazed into his eyes. He saved me from being eaten by that Murkrow. He doesn't even know me. Tears forming in Pichu's eyes, Pichu began to cry, clutching Riley's knee. Rubbing his face against Riley's knee, Pichu couldn't stop muttering or stuttering his thanks. If the human hadn't saved him, he would've been inside the Murkrow's belly, and his mother would've wondered where he'd gone. He'd been on his way home when the Murkrow attacked, and this human had saved him, he was one lucky little mouse.
"Aww.." Riley said, cradling Glameow in one arm, freeing up his other arm so that he could reach out and gently rub the sobbing Pichu's back. "It's okay little guy, Star won't hurt you. He doesn't like eating mice." Laying Glameow in his lap, Riley reached into his backpack again, reaching for Glameow's pokeball. Of course, that was before he saw a Pikachu appear. The Pikachu was standing fifteen feet away from him, just looking at him and the Pichu.
"What's going on here? What happened?" Pikachu asked, keeping her distance from the human who was petting her son. "I saw the Murkrow and came running. Is everyone okay?"
"Momma!" Pichu cried, hearing his mother and running to his mother, running away from the human. Throwing himself at his mother, Pichu shook hysterically, crying into his mother's fur as he explained everything. "I was on the way home from playing with Turtwig and the Murkrow attacked me!" he said, clinging to his mother's fur as she hugged him. Of course, Riley couldn't help but watch the reunion between the Pichu and Pikachu. It was adorable, like the reunion between a parent and child, which, he had to remind himself, it probably was. "That man saved me, he and Glameow fought Murkrow."
"Murkrow almost ate you?!" Pikachu said, shocked, and suddenly scared for her son. For while she was a powerful Pokémon, her son was still a baby, still quite innocent and vulnerable to bigger Pokémon. Pokémon that would love to eat him. It was this that caused Pikachu to worry. She wanted to see her son grow to be a strong, powerful Pikachu like his father. If other Pokémon kept trying to eat him, that would never happen. Sighing, Pikachu kissed her sons forehead, doing something she knew she had to do, even though it would break her heart. "Go with him." she said, pulling away from her son. "The human, he'll protect you. I love you, Pichu, but I don't want to worry if you're being cared for. A lot of Pokémon out there would love to eat us, but he protected you." At this point, Pikachu's own shoulder's were shaking as she bit her bottom lip. Getting on all fours, she put her son on her back and slowly approached the human, slowly approached Riley. No, she wasn't afraid of Glameow. If the human and Glameow put their own safety on the line for her son, she knew she could trust them.
"I want you to take care of my son." she said, standing up before the human as Pichu slid from her back.
"Mama, can't we just go home?" Pichu asked, sucking on one of it's fingers nervously.
"Home isn't safe anymore." Pikachu said, looking at her son with sorrow. "I have to do what's best for you."
I wonder what they're talking about. Riley wondered, keeping his hands to himself as he watched the interaction between the Pichu and its mother. It sounds as if it's something sad. Sighing, his fingers loosened and he dropped Glameow's pokeball back into his backpack, swallowing the lump of emotion that was forming in his throat. He didn't know if the Pikachu was thanking him, or if it was saying goodbye. Either way, it had him choked up.
"Get in the pokeball." Pikachu said, moving around Riley and leaping into his backpack. Grabbing what she knew was a pokeball, because she'd seen many trainers throwing them to capture her friends, she hopped out of the backpack and put the pokeball down in front of her son. "In the ball, Pichu. It's the only way you'll be safe."
"But Momma.."
"No buts, Pichu. Do it, please, for me?" Pikachu said, moving forward to hug her son.
Watching the whole exchange, Riley sniffled, smiling through the tears that had begun trickling down his face. "I'll take good care of Pichu." he said, biting his bottom lip some as he fought back the wave of gratitute and sorrow that had him emotionally confused and torn. "I couldn't bare to let the Murkrow eat him. It didn't seem right."
"You see?" Pikachu said, pointing at the human with her tail. "He'll take care of you and I'll know your safe. Please, just get into the pokeball."
"Okay, Momma." Pichu said, sighing as he blinked, sniffling again. He didn't want to leave his mother, but usually if he didn't listen to her he got spanked or sent to bed without supper. Stepping toward the pokeball, he watched as his mother pressed the button to make the small ball bigger.
"Goodbye, Pichu." Pikachu said, watching as her son, Pichu, pressed the white button at the center of the pokeball. She could only gaze on as the pokeball popped open and a red beam of light emerged, grabbing her son and pulling him inside. When the pokeball snapped shut, closing over her son, the sound felt so final. With how the human had kept her son from being killed by Murkrow, she felt the human would love her son and would help him to grow strong, to grow into a son she was proud of. Once her son was inside, she picked up the pokeball and carried it over to the human, setting it on his knees.
"Please, take care of him." she said, before turning and scampering off into the grass of the meadow, disappearing down a hole and heading home to cry herself to sleep.
Yes, Riley had watched the whole thing, and it was all quite sad. Like a soap opera. When Pikachu placed the pokeball that contained Pichu on his knee, Riley had to choke back a sob as Pikachu then ran away from him and disappeared from view. Slowly, he reached down to his knee, fingers grasping the red and white ball that now contained Pichu. "I'll always remember you, Pikachu." he said, fingering tightening around the pokeball. "I'll always love Pichu, and I promise, I won't let any Murkrow eat him."
